Only roulette of the single zero variety features the ‘en prison’ rule and in turn allows even money bets to be placed on the outside of the bet layout. This will enable any one players bet to be imprisoned, meaning it can be played on the next spin once the player has placed an even wager.

If the ball stops on any number but the zero then the player’s bet will be returned to them, this means there is a chance to not lose the bet. However if the ball stops on the number zero, then they will in turn completely lose the bet. This particular rule decreases the house advantage to a total close to 1%
On the next spin, once the ball lands on any number except for the zero the player’s bet is returned to them, this will give them the chance to not lose the bet. However once the ball drops on the number zero again the player totally lose their bet. Such a rule in the single zero roulette lowers the house advantage of the casino down to a figure of 1%.

Another common rule and characteristic of the single zero roulette game is the ‘La Partage’ rule and has to a large extent a very similar effect to that of the ‘En Prison’ rule. This in turn has the effect of lowering the house advantage in roulette and any player who places an even money bet will win back a total of half of their bets instantly. This will take place once the ball lands on the zero number.

The single zero roulette game is an extremely fun way to take home winnings from a roulette game, whilst also allowing players to take advantage of the set of rules that will in fact lower the house boundary, therefore giving the roulette player better chances on winning.

Roulette is my persona game of choice whenever I visited my favorite casino. The game is driven by pure chance and the basic principles of randomness, and I simply can’t get enough of it; it is so exciting to play the game for hours just because the outcome of each spin is always different and unpredictable. Some Roulette-playing friends asked me about whether or not they should bet the 2 to 1 bets, so I decided to make this article and look into the matter a bit deeper.

The 2 to 1 bets, the Red/Black and Even/Odd bets respectively, can actually be used for so many things. You need to first keep in mind that you are playing against house advantage, so the 2 to 1 payout you get isn’t 100% profitable at all times. There is one green box — two if you are playing the American Roulette — that can alter the house advantage quite substantially.

I usually use Red/Black or Even/Odd bets if I play with low gambling money and just want to have some light fun. You should too if your primary goals aren’t to make money. If you are playing Roulette more seriously, you can use the 2 to 1 bets as safety nets, protecting other bets and limiting risks you are facing on each spin.

The Red/Black and Even/Odd bets combined can actually be quite profitable on their own. Although the strategy is far from being common, I have seen a fellow Roulette player using only 2 to 1 bets to double almost all his gambling money in a matter of minutes. It is the right combination that will give you 4 time payouts, yet the risks of losing all your money are actually limited on each spin. Give 2 to 1 bets a try for sure; you will see just how profitable these bets can be in no time.
